Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in evaluation, social science or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years progressive evaluation experience required.
  • Minimum three (3) years working with community-based social service organizations preferred.
  • Specialized training in statistical software required (e.g. SPSS or equivalent). Computer languages and software (i.e. R, SQL, Python) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience utilizing data visualization software required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong technical knowledge of evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of evaluation methods and indicators utilized in the criminal justice system and restorative justice.
  • Ability to develop and lead evaluation efforts in collaboration with multiple key stakeholders
  • Ability to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations based on observations
  • Strong demonstration of alignment with Adler’s social justice mission and vision
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and visioning acumen
  • Ability to proactively identify challenges and barriers to stated objective and employ assistance in addressing these
  • Strong collaboration acumen and abilities

Supervision (if applicable): The position may be required to provide supervision to student interns, and direct reports as evaluation team grows.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation of community-based projects and the Community Restorative Justice Hubs
  • Define and document adherence to minimum standards of project operation including assessing model fidelity, documenting practices, evaluation of key indicators, providing feedback, course correction advice, and technical assistance and analyzing data to assess program effectiveness and areas of improvement.
  • Creating reports in the database to share updates with the sites as well as reporting back to funders
  • Documentation, evaluation, and reporting of current data collection items and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Develop, administer, and interpret metrics to ensure a sound evaluation
  • Participate in research procedures such as conducting needs assessments, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews
  • Engage in community based participatory research
  • Provide RJ Hubs with technical assistance, evaluation oversight, and site capacity building
  • Provide benchmarks, feedback, and training to relevant stakeholders
  • Data visualization, report writing and presentation of data to stakeholders such as funders and external partners.
  • Complete additional assigned tasks as needed

Work Environment (Physical Demands): The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. 50% of this position will be completed from various community-based organizations throughout the City of Chicago.
